Backend Engineer
About The Position
One of our direct client is urgently looking for Backend Engineer @ Sunnyvale CA. This role involves designing and developing Java & Spring based web services, writing unit and end-to-end tests, and driving operational and production monitoring for applications. The engineer will develop innovation strategies, processes, and best practices, drive the execution of business plans and projects, and support the achievement of business objectives. Responsibilities include leading the discovery phase of medium to large projects for high-level design, leading small groups of engineers for assigned projects, and participating in end-to-end service implementations, data feed ingestion, and orchestration. The role also requires designing and implementing low latency services, promoting company policies, and troubleshooting business and production issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in large scale enterprise software development
- 5+ years in Java backend engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience designing webservices in Java and Spring
- 3+ years of experience in design of, creating and managing RESTful webservices
- Experience in working with NoSQL databases
- Experience writing comprehensive unit and end-to-end test cases
- Experience working with devops, git, github and github based workflows
- Experience in CI/CD such as Jenkins
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of experience in MS Azure
- 2+ years of experience in Cosmos DB
- 2+ years of experience with creating and monitoring production operations
Responsibilities
- Design and develop java & spring based webservices
- Write unit test, end to end test for the webservices
- Drive operational and production monitoring for the applications
- Develops innovation strategies, processes, and best practices.
- Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects.
- Supports and ensures business objectives being met.
- Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design.
- Leads the work of other small group of 3 to 4 engineers for assigned Engineering projects
- Leads and participates in end to end service implementations, data feeds ingestion, and orchestration.
- Designs and implements low latency services.
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Troubleshoots business and production issues.
