The role As a Backend Engineer, you will build and scale the services and APIs that power Vale’s products, machine platform, and data pipelines.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States
4+ years of back-end engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Node.js, or a comparable back-end language
Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database design
Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD

Responsibilities

Design and build robust, scalable back-end services and APIs
Own the reliability, performance, and observability of the systems you build
Collaborate with Front-End Engineers, Data, and Hardware teams to deliver integrated features
Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to system design decisions
Write comprehensive tests and participate in code reviews
Debug and resolve production incidents quickly and with clear communication
Document systems and APIs thoroughly for internal and external consumers
