About The Position

Equall is building the legal infrastructure for the private markets, creating a new system for verifying, tracking, and managing corporate legal reality. Their AI-native platform extracts, structures, and reconciles corporate legal information to produce auditable outputs like cap table tie-out reports, governance dashboards, and personnel summaries. Equall executes workflows end-to-end for due diligence and day-to-day advisory work, verifying a company's legal state and surfacing actionable issues in real time. This role is at a pivotal moment for Equall as they scale their customer base and product, extending coverage across the venture and emerging companies ecosystem and expanding into private equity and M&A. Equall brings together leaders in legal, engineering, and AI, with a customer-centric approach and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong experience running production services on Kubernetes.
  • Deep comfort with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or GCP) and an appetite for operating across both.
  • A security engineering mindset, with an instinctive understanding of blast radius, isolation, and attack surface.
  • Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS in production.
  • Strong opinions on CI/CD and developer experience, backed by experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Go, Rust, or Zig).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Istio, Linkerd, or other service meshes.
  • Experience with runtime isolation (gVisor, Firecracker, Kata, or similar).
  • Experience with SOC2 / compliance automation (Vanta or peers).
  • Experience with runtime security tooling (Wiz, Falco, or peers).
  • Experience with GitOps / ArgoCD at scale.
  • Experience building auth systems (OIDC, SSO, RBAC, fine-grained authorization).

Responsibilities

  • Own CI/CD end-to-end, including Depot, ArgoCD, and deployment pipelines.
  • Operate cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including Kubernetes and Istio.
  • Shape the multi-tenancy architecture, focusing on isolation boundaries, per-tenant resource management, and runtime isolation of untrusted workloads.
  • Lead the security engineering posture, covering auth, secrets, runtime security, compliance tooling, and data protection controls.
  • Build the observability stack on Datadog (metrics, logs, traces, alerting) to enable fast debugging and system stability.
  • Invest in developer experience, including local development loops, feature flag infrastructure, and internal tooling to enhance engineering velocity.
