About The Position

Responsible for the preparation, production, and/or displaying of all foods in an assigned area. Ensures standards and expectations of food quality are met during scheduled shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit.
  • Washington State Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start date.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 80+ pounds.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discrimination in sound.
  • Ability to verbally express or exchange ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Ability to work with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to food.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and the public.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information through verbal and written correspondence.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high volume cooking is helpful.
  • Diverse cooking skills and high volume experience preferred
  • Hepatitis A & B vaccination preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls, and the Kalispel Casino Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to perform various types of cooking methods.
  • Follow all recipes and procedures including measuring, mixing, carving, cutting, washing and other techniques required for a full-service kitchen.
  • Prepares and display food to specifications set by the Chef
  • Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines set forth by the FDA.
  • Performs quality control checks before and after production to ensure health and sanitation standards are followed.
  • Available to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for business levels.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.
