About The Position

Lockheed Martin, Cyber & Intelligence is seeking a Back-End Software Developer to join their team. This role involves protecting critical networks and infrastructure through advanced cybersecurity measures. The developer will be a key player in shaping the lifecycle of collection and antenna systems, focusing on modern cloud-native development. Responsibilities include providing analytical expertise for process improvements, conducting specialized studies, defining clear requirements, and developing functional architectures for both front-end and back-end components. The role also entails leading the migration from AWS to Azure, designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications across the stack, performing time-critical analysis of application issues, recommending actions, and delivering hot-fixes or roll-backs. Collaboration with a testing team will ensure functionality, performance, and security. This is a dynamic, innovative team focused on cloud-first development with a real impact on customer missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with the ability to apply several tool suites related to DevSecOps, microservices and containers
  • Experience with Python and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with AWS Infrastructure
  • Experience with Relational databases
  • Eligible for and willing to obtain a Top Secret clearance with polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of overall experience in the functional area
  • 10 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with the ability to apply several tool suites related to DevSecOps, microservices and containers
  • 5 years of recent and relevant experience performing back-end web design and development
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance with project standards and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in relational databases, RESTful API development and integration.
  • 5 years experience in Python and PostgreSQL.
  • 5 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira).
  • 5 years of experience testing web-based applications
  • 5 years of experience leading software development programs or projects.
  • Practical experience developing in a cloud environment
  • 3 years of experience with the following: AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.
  • 10 years of experience with Relational databases with at least 5 years of PostgreSQL applied experience.
  • 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: BASH, Spring, Ansible, JUnitS, Nexus Repository, Maven
  • Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments
  • 5 years of experience with DoD software development
  • Experience using Agile Test-Driven development
  • Experience integrating into DoD DevSecOps environments
  • 5 years experience with CI/CD software development

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical expertise to drive process improvements.
  • Conduct specialized studies and define clear requirements.
  • Develop functional architectures for both front-end and back-end components.
  • Lead the migration from AWS to Azure, ensuring a smooth transition for existing services and building new Azure-native capabilities.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy applications across the stack.
  • Perform time-critical analysis of application issues, recommend actions, and deliver hot-fixes or roll-backs as needed.
  • Own the deployment pipeline with Azure DevOps and CI/CD best practices.
  • Collaborate with a small testing team to ensure functionality, performance, and security throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the migration of existing AWS applications to Azure.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy new cloud-native solutions.
  • Manage rapid hot-fix and rollback cycles.
  • Maintain the CI/CD pipeline for timely patch releases.
