About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a B-52 Bomber Field Service Representative to provide engineering and technical recommendations in support of the United States Air Force B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP), products, and service at Boeing San Antonio, Texas, with continued operations to Edwards Air Force Base, California. This is a Field Operations position where employees must be willing and able, potentially on short notice, to travel to a variety of locations, domestic and/or international, to meet customer needs. Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements. Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a U.S. DoD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of avionics or electrical experience in B-52 flight line maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform modifications/repair.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing maintainability analyses that included the identification of step-by-step procedures, associated task times, and tool requirements for performing maintenance actions.
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of B-52 maintenance experience in avionics, communication, navigation, mission systems, electrical systems, power control, power distribution, movable surfaces, flight control systems, fuel systems.
  • Knowledge of Air Force maintenance recording systems.
  • Experience working directly with government aerospace engineers.
  • 5+ years of experience with B-52 modifications and modernizations.
  • Prior experience supporting Air Force bomber operations in a field service, sustainment, or technical advisory role.
  • Familiarity with depot-level support, aircraft troubleshooting, and sustainment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical recommendations to customers regarding aircraft technical manuals, USAF Technical Orders, data, training, and technical support as required.
  • Represent The Boeing Company to customers, regulatory authorities, and industry working groups to ensure safe, efficient product operation.
  • Apply maintenance and engineering principles to lead research on technical, operational, regulatory, safety, and/or quality issues affecting the B-52 fleet.
  • Lead and manage development of interim and final solutions to minor and complex aircraft maintenance queries.
  • Develop clear and concise customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of the aircraft and support equipment.
  • Support flight line operations by providing technical guidance to maintainers and customer personnel as required.
  • Analyze recurring aircraft issues and maintenance trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and program teams to resolve technical issues and support mission readiness.
  • Maintain effective communication with Air Force customers and internal stakeholders in a dynamic operational environment.
