About The Position

TEKsystems has a client looking for an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) engineer or someone with strong virtualized desktop infrastructure experience. The client is an enterprise-wide Azure shop that has already implemented AVD. They are seeking to add a member to their cloud team who will primarily work with the AVD leader to manage, optimize, and provide operational services for their AVD environment. This role is critical for maintaining secure, operational, and available virtual desktop infrastructure for various business units and worksites. The position may also involve supporting VIP customers with their specific VDI functionality. The team currently manages over 25 AVD environments, including testing, production, and development.

Requirements

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) experience
Strong virtualized desktop infrastructure experience
Enterprise-wide Azure environment experience
Experience supporting and patching thin clients
Good soft skills for user interaction during outages

Nice To Haves

Citrix experience
Windows Server experience

Responsibilities

Manage, optimize, and provide operational services for the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment.
Collaborate with the AVD leader to ensure the AVD environment meets business needs.
Maintain the security, operational status, and availability of virtual desktop infrastructure for multiple business units and worksites.
Support VIP customers with their specific VDI functionality.
Support and patch thin clients.
Provide support to users during outages.
