About The Position

We are hiring an Azure Solutions Architect to lead the technical side of our Microsoft practice in the United States. This is a client-facing role where approximately half of your time will be dedicated to pre-sales activities, including shaping solutions, writing technical proposals, sizing work, and acting as the technical voice in pitches. The other half will focus on delivery leadership, where you will set the architecture and quality standards for global accounts, ensuring that sold solutions are effectively delivered. This role is crucial for our Microsoft alliance work, fostering relationships with the Microsoft field to generate pipeline and leveraging delivered work for references. Azure is the primary focus, and this role is essential for our go-to-market strategy, particularly in the Azure, Fabric, and AI/data layer. We value expertise in other areas but require deep Azure knowledge. Your compensation will be tied to the growth of the practice, rewarding both work won and work delivered.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Microsoft-stack consulting or solution architecture, with at least 3 years shaping solutions in live pursuits (pre-sales, bid, or solutioning work) at a Microsoft partner, systems integrator, or consultancy.
  • Deep experience designing and delivering on Microsoft Azure at enterprise scale, including landing zones and subscription design, identity, networking, security, and cost management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable enterprise data platform, including capacity and licensing models.
  • Sufficient command of surrounding Azure data services to design production-ready solutions.
  • Experience designing AI solutions on Microsoft Foundry or Azure OpenAI, covering retrieval strategy, service selection, quota and cost management, evaluation, and responsible AI.
  • Ability to differentiate between production AI architectures and demos, and to guide clients on their needs.
  • Understanding of the boundary between Copilot Studio and Foundry, including implications for licensing, governance, and flexibility.
  • Commercial track record of writing proposals, closing deals, and leading pitches.
  • Proficiency in sizing and pricing work, with accountability for estimates.
  • Experience working with the Microsoft field (Partner Development Manager, account executive, cloud solution architect, technology specialists) and understanding of partner investment funding and co-sell referrals.
  • Credibility with both CIOs and developers, with the ability to explain architecture in business terms while retaining technical detail.
  • Experience taking a cloud, data, or agent estate from pilot to governed scale, including enablement.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (current or lapsed and renewable within 90 days).
  • Ability to distinguish generally available capabilities from preview ones and to admit uncertainty.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of conversing effectively with platform engineers and finance stakeholders.
  • Right to work in the United States at the point of application (no visa sponsorship).

Nice To Haves

  • Depth in a second pillar: Power Platform or Copilot Studio.
  • Certifications beyond Azure Solutions Architect Expert, particularly current, unexpired credentials such as Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (or their successors).
  • Integration experience across legacy and cloud estates, including Dynamics 365.
  • Fabric adjacency experience, such as Fabric and Azure Databricks coexistence, Microsoft Purview governance over Fabric, or Synapse-to-Fabric and Azure Data Factory-to-Fabric migration experience.
  • Agent engineering experience on the Azure side, including Microsoft Agent Framework, Model Context Protocol tool integration, or agent evaluation and observability.
  • Industry experience in Healthcare or Financial Services.
  • Exposure to UiPath or ServiceNow.
  • Interest in agentic development on Anthropic Claude and other model providers.
  • Experience standing up a practice or an offering from an early stage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the solution design on live pursuits, translating client needs into defensible Microsoft architectures.
  • Write and own the technical content of proposals, statements of work, and RFP responses.
  • Estimate scope, effort, delivery shape, and commercial risk, defending these estimates internally and with clients.
  • Serve as the senior technical voice in pitches, executive briefings, and competitive bake-offs.
  • Run discovery workshops, assessments, and architecture reviews that convert into paid engagements.
  • Design and productize solution offerings, turning successful patterns into repeatable offerings with defined scope, price, reference architecture, demo, and estimating model.
  • Build and maintain assets for solution offerings.
  • Own the architecture for US-based Microsoft engagements, from design authority to production.
  • Set the technical quality standard, review delivery team output, and ensure governance and security.
  • Resolve technical escalations on live accounts and manage client relationships during challenging deliveries.
  • Transform delivered work into references and case studies with client consent.
  • Mentor consultants and developers, and support the practice skilling plan.
  • Build working relationships with the Microsoft field (Partner Development Manager, account executive, cloud solution architect, technology specialists).
  • Support co-sell motions, joint account planning, and Microsoft-sourced pipeline.
  • Turn Microsoft investments into Azure pipeline.
  • Lead funded pre-sales engagements on Azure (assessments, proofs of value, migration and modernization plans).
  • Produce workload assessments, target architectures, and Azure consumption estimates for funding cases, with the customer’s Microsoft account team present.
  • Represent TQA in Microsoft field briefings, partner events, and joint customer workshops.

Benefits

  • Base salary plus a performance-linked variable component measured on the growth of the TQA Microsoft practice (bookings influenced and closed).
  • Benefits package to be covered at the first interview.
