About The Position

Quest Global is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support complex application development and migration projects in Azure. The engineer will work with business analysts, application developers, architects, and data stakeholders to understand customer business cases and build secure, scalable Azure environments. The role involves independently managing cloud environments with minimal guidance, designing and implementing Azure infrastructure for application, data, and DevOps teams, and ensuring environments meet compliance requirements. The position is onsite in Indianapolis, Indiana, and requires the employee to arrange transportation to meet working hours. The work environment may include a shop floor, extensive walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds. No travel is required, and U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

Degree-level education in mathematics, computing, or an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
At least 8 years of total experience, including at least 5 years working with Azure Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) in relation to data-intensive solutions.
Experience designing solutions and implementing or migrating data-intensive applications to Azure Cloud.
Experience designing, configuring, and optimizing Azure data services such as Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, databases, and batch services.
Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot end-to-end data platform pipelines.
Experience configuring application gateways, IaaS, Active Directory, firewalls, and networking in the context of PaaS.
Experience implementing SQL and NoSQL solutions in Azure data platforms.
Experience migrating data from on-premises to cloud environments.
Exposure to cybersecurity standards and implementation of cloud and resource controls to meet standards.
Knowledge of DevOps processes, including CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
Expertise with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and PowerShell to automate deployment with Azure DevOps.
Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps using YAML pipelines and scripts.
Good understanding of Git, repositories, artifacts, branching strategy, conflicts, policies, and pipelines as applied to data solutions.
Must be able to commute to and from the Indianapolis location using own transportation arrangements.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Ability to work in a shop-floor environment that may involve extensive walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.

Responsibilities

Understand requirements and independently handle cloud environments with minimal guidance.
Design, build, and implement Azure environments for applications, data teams, and DevOps.
Implement Azure cloud resources with security features enabled.
Coordinate with project architects, developers, data teams, and infrastructure support teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
Own documentation, track and prioritize tasks, and flag anticipated blockers upfront.
Ensure Azure cloud environments comply with applicable requirements.
Design solutions and implement or migrate data-intensive applications to Azure.
Design, configure, and optimize Azure data services, including Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, databases, and batch services.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot end-to-end data platform pipelines.
