About The Position
Vamonos IT is seeking an experienced Azure Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, virtual desktop environments, and Microsoft 365 services. This hands-on role involves independently engineering, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex cloud environments while collaborating with system architects, developers, and product teams to define cloud solutions, implement services, identify technical risks, and deliver successful deployments. The successful candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, a consultative approach to engineering, and the ability to deliver reliable technical solutions with minimal day-to-day supervision. The position requires working on-site in Ashburn, Virginia, at least one day per week. The engineer will provide technical support to customers and stakeholders and contribute to technical planning and project execution activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an adjacent technical discipline and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience, or at least 6 years of relevant professional experience without a bachelor's degree.
- Hands-on experience engineering, administering, and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud service models, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems deployed in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience building, configuring, securing, and hardening Windows servers.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure virtual desktop environments.
- Experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services.
- Advanced experience with Azure Active Directory management and administration.
- Experience administering and managing environments using Microsoft Intune.
- Strong PowerShell scripting capabilities, including developing and maintaining administrative automation.
- Experience implementing or supporting automated cloud infrastructure deployments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving cloud infrastructure, identity management, and Microsoft services.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating technical concepts to customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple technical priorities, and collaborate across engineering and product teams.
- Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) authorization.
- Ability to work on-site in Ashburn, Virginia, at least one day per week.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure solutions based on technical and operational requirements.
- Deploy and administer Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and databases.
- Engineer, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure cloud, virtual desktop, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Administer, configure, secure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems deployed within Azure environments.
- Build, configure, and harden Windows servers according to established security requirements.
- Perform advanced Azure Active Directory administration, including identity management, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Administer and support Microsoft Intune for device and endpoint management.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize PowerShell scripts to automate infrastructure administration, deployments, and monitoring processes.
- Implement infrastructure automation using infrastructure-as-code methodologies and tools.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, diagnose complex technical issues, and resolve production incidents.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement cloud security best practices and identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Support migrations of applications, software, and services to Microsoft Azure.
- Work with system architects, developers, and product teams to design and implement cloud-based solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, technical planning, and project execution activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Evaluate cloud infrastructure and recommend improvements to performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Provide customer service and white-glove technical support to customers and stakeholders.
