About The Position

A successful Azure Databricks Platform Engineer at Fiserv implements and manages cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions that support client objectives within Government Services. This role drives Azure Databricks development, deployment, performance, resiliency and security activities while keeping project execution aligned with EFTPS program goals. Success in this role also means communicating effectively with clients, leadership and scrum teams, while supporting documentation and knowledge sharing that enables consistent delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with Azure Databricks analytics database capabilities and other relational database technologies supported in Azure.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen 2, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Event Hubs, Spark Pools, Python, PySpark, SQL, Azure Landing Zone, Azure Networking Services and Microsoft EntraID.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines with Azure Databricks, including data cleaning, transformation, Data Lakehouse loading, geo-redundancy, HA/failover and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • U.S. citizenship or current Green Card status held for at least 3 years, with the ability to work within the continental United States and travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ large-scale cloud data migration completed using Databricks, Python, Spark and SQL.
  • Experience supporting SQL Server environments across versions 2005–2022.
  • 4 Azure certifications, including Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Data Fundamentals and Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise and ownership of Azure Databricks development tasks within the scrum team, translating software requirements into agile user stories and technical tasks that support client objectives.
  • Install, configure, maintain and administer Azure Databricks environments from the ground up, including deployments, testing, configuration and installation activities across cloud-native and hybrid data platforms.
  • Design and implement data pipelines using Azure Databricks for data cleaning, transformation and loading into a Data Lakehouse, while supporting relational and dimensional data modeling and Medallion Architecture practices.
  • Troubleshoot configuration and performance issues, while helping ensure database resiliency through backups, restores, redundancy, geo-replication, disaster recovery capabilities and Azure storage concepts.
  • Prioritize platform security and operational excellence by addressing database vulnerabilities, collaborating with clients and leadership, and creating detailed documentation and knowledge-sharing materials for the team.
