About The Position

Foundation Risk Partners is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to manage and administer resources within their Azure environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance. This role involves day-to-day administrative tasks such as configuring virtual networks, managing storage accounts, monitoring resource utilization, and implementing governance policies. The engineer will also plan and execute migrations of workloads into Azure, assess dependencies, optimize resource allocation, and ensure minimal downtime. Strong expertise in Azure services, automation tools, and cloud architecture best practices is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Azure IaaS & PaaS resources
  • Windows Server administration
  • Networking: LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN troubleshooting
  • Automation & scripting (PowerShell, Terraform)
  • Root cause analysis and error resolution
  • Ability to identify repetitive tasks and automate processes

Nice To Haves

  • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies in Azure
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)

Responsibilities

  • Create, configure, monitor and troubleshoot Azure IaaS and PaaS resources including Azure virtual machines, networking and storage storage
  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Migrate servers from on-premises and other cloud platforms to Microsoft Azure
  • Install, configure, and administer Windows Server
  • Troubleshoot Windows domain and operating system errors
  • Apply OS and application updates
  • Provide end user training and support
  • Work with vendors to support projects and integrations
  • Document procedures with step-by-step instructions and screenshots
  • Create user and troubleshooting documentation
  • Update task and project statuses
  • Perform system audits
  • Participate in daily team meetings to report progress
  • Cross-train with infrastructure team for skill redundancy
  • Provide second- and third-level support for applications
