About The Position

Everforth ECS is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect to work in a hybrid capacity in our Fairfax, VA office (up to 3 business days per week, at the Project Manager's direction). The Azure Cloud Architect will work as part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and installing a DoW Mission Partner network enclave's Cloud infrastructure, and has in depth knowledge of Azure offerings and alternatives. The Azure Cloud Architect will work in a demanding, high-energy environment that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, software, and operational challenges, and will report directly to the Program Manager. The Azure Cloud Architect will work within the project team to design, build, implement, and maintain multi-component, cloud-based and hybrid solutions which meet DoD customer and security requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Security, or other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher) within 60 days of hire.
  • Active Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity in Fairfax, VA (up to 3 days in office).
  • Ability to travel <20% throughout the lifespan of the Program to CONUS / OCONUS customer sites and government installations.
  • 6+ years of experience designing, engineering, and deploying infrastructure systems and services within cloud environments.
  • 6+ years of experience and proficiency working with Amazon Web Services' cloud services and technologies including, but not limited to: EC2, Storage concepts (S3, RDS, EBS), EKS, VPC, and Security Groups / IAM.
  • Experience working with DoD networks, or similar organizations and/or customers / performers.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting system infrastructure diagrams.
  • Experience in one or more automation languages (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, BASH, PowerShell).
  • DoD 8570 Compliant, minimum IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or higher); current, or achieved within 45 calendar days of employment.
  • Ability to travel locally to Falls Church, VA, as needed, for weekly customer site support.
  • Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS throughout the duration of the effort.
  • Proficiency in creating architecture diagrams and systems integration mapping.
  • Proficiency in developing, engineering, and deploying Docker and Kubernetes-based containerized solutions.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking and troubleshooting (e.g., IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing).
  • Familiarity in designing Microsoft Identity ecosystem solutions (e.g. AD/ADFS/AD Connect, EntraID).
  • Solid understanding of Firewalls, NAT, SSL/TLS, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).

Responsibilities

  • Identify enterprise and customer-specific issues and develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Architect, design, implement, and maintain Cloud solutions and new capabilities in Azure.
  • Architect and design complex Identity management frameworks including Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Leverage a variety of automation, instance, and/or container, orchestration, security, and native/non-native Cloud services for large DoD program(s).
  • Provide objective solution design recommendations and feedback for multi-hybrid systems and integration utilizing existing and emerging Cloud technologies.
  • Install, configure, maintain, update, manage, and refine information systems.
  • Ensure system components maintain compliance with DoD security requirements.
  • Support functional, interoperability, and security testing.
  • Analyze systems for potential performance or security vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in technical incident response and security assessments.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to team members and clients.
  • Coordinate and/or provide support for all enclave applications and systems.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
