About The Position

The Azure Engineering Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud architecture with business objectives, ensure best practices in cloud governance, and drive innovation through cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure services, infrastructure as code, and enterprise architecture principles.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience with requisite competencies.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, etc.).
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex, enterprise-scale Azure architectures that support current and future business needs.
  • Establish and refine architecture standards, reference models, and solution patterns for cloud platforms and services.
  • Review and approve solution designs to ensure resiliency, scalability, interoperability, and technical quality.
  • Translate enterprise cloud strategy into executable roadmaps, standards, and governance practices across teams.
  • Drive consistency in cost management, platform controls, architecture review, and service adoption decisions.
  • Assess emerging Azure capabilities and recommend strategic enhancements to the cloud environment.
  • Oversee implementation of large-scale Azure platforms and ensure engineering teams follow defined architecture standards.
  • Champion automation, reusable infrastructure patterns, and mature DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Guide complex migration and modernization initiatives from legacy or hybrid environments to Azure.
  • Ensure architecture and platform decisions align with security, regulatory, and risk management requirements.
  • Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to embed controls into cloud designs and operating models.
  • Provide senior technical leadership across cloud teams, influencing priorities, solution direction, and architecture decisions.
  • Mentor architects and engineers, building team capability in cloud design, governance, and delivery practices.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritize investments and resolve cross-functional design challenges.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones to align cultural & business objectives, prioritize the most important work and coach to high performance.
  • Facilitate execution through effective situational leadership tools.
  • Support engagement and action by listening to team member feedback – what’s working, what’s not – support them in initiating and executing positive changes and provided them with adequate resources.
  • Support in the team members professional and personal.
  • Catch team members being approximately right through timely, individualized recognition.
  • Promote collaboration and face to face interaction.
  • Establish performance, reliability, and cost optimization expectations for cloud environments and solutions.
  • Review operational trends and recommend improvements that strengthen service health, scalability, and efficiency.
