About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Azure API Management / Integration professional with hands-on experience in Azure API Management, AKS, hybrid connectivity, API security, monitoring, and enterprise integration. The role involves designing and troubleshooting end-to-end integrations between on-premises systems, Azure APIM, Azure Functions or AKS, and enterprise target systems such as SAP. The position is remote in US time zones.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on Azure API Management experience.
Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and AKS/Kubernetes.
Knowledge of REST, SOAP, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, Entra ID, OpenID Connect, and mTLS.
Knowledge of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
Experience with VPN, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints.
Experience with Azure Key Vault and Managed Identity.
Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and APIOps.
Knowledge of high availability/disaster recovery, multi-region, and load-balancing architecture.
Experience with PowerShell or Azure CLI.
Strong production troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

SAP/ERP integration experience.
Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
Experience with Azure Application Gateway, Front Door, or WAF.
Experience with Service Bus or Event Grid.
GraphQL experience.
Enterprise architecture experience.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and configure Azure API Management (APIM).
Develop APIM policies for rate limiting, caching, transformation, authentication, authorization, and threat protection.
Integrate APIM with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, AKS/microservices, SAP, and on-premises systems.
Design secure Azure-to-on-premises connectivity using VPN, ExpressRoute, VNet integration, Private Endpoints, NSGs, and routing.
Deploy and integrate middleware, agents, or containerized components on AKS.
Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, Entra ID/Azure AD, OpenID Connect, certificates, and mTLS.
Manage secrets using Azure Key Vault and Managed Identity.
Design high availability, load balancing, disaster recovery, and multi-region APIM solutions.
Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, APIM diagnostics, and KQL.
Configure alerts and notifications for API failures, rate-limit violations, latency, and backend connectivity issues.
Automate APIM and integration deployments using Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions and APIOps/IaC.
Define and manage OpenAPI/Swagger schemas, API versions, products, subscriptions, and API governance.
Troubleshoot production issues including 502/504 errors, connectivity, authentication, performance, and backend failures.
Work closely with networking, security, DevOps, application, SAP, and infrastructure teams.
