About The Position

The Azure Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, security, and reliability of the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including Azure infrastructure and identity and access management. The Azure Administrator will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, and support teams to ensure our cloud services are reliable, cost-effective, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA, enterprise applications, and identity lifecycle administration.
  • Ability to manage Azure compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and governance capabilities.
  • Knowledge in PowerShell and Azure CLI for administration, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Knowledge in infrastructure-as-code practices and tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent deployment automation platforms.
  • Knowledge in cloud financial management practices, including budgets, cost analysis, reserved instances, savings plans, rightsizing recommendations, cost allocation, tagging, and ongoing optimization of Azure spend.
  • Ability to support SaaS integrations, enterprise application registrations, managed identities, service principals, and certificate or secret lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge in cloud security fundamentals, zero-trust architecture, least privilege, privileged access management, logging, operational monitoring, and implementation of HIPAA and HITRUST security controls in cloud environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, document findings, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a cloud-focused environment and applying modern Azure administration practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and incident-response skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex, production-impacting issues under time pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to document technical configurations clearly for other engineers.
  • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information technology, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure services in a production environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud operations, identity administration, networking, security operations, or platform engineering.
  • Current Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification required.

  • Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other regulated, data-sensitive environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Azure subscriptions, management groups, resource groups, role-based access control, policies, tags, budgets, and governance standards.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID users, groups, administrative roles, authentication methods, Conditional Access policies, enterprise applications, and identity governance processes.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure compute resources, including virtual machines, scale sets, containers, and platform services as required.
  • Configure and manage Azure virtual networks, network security groups, private endpoints, DNS, application connectivity, and secure cloud-to-cloud integrations.
  • Implement and maintain Azure storage services, including storage accounts, access controls, lifecycle management, encryption, replication, and backup considerations.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, dashboards, and related operational tools.
  • Support incident response, service restoration, root-cause analysis, and operational documentation for Azure infrastructure services.
  • Automate repeatable administrative tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Bicep, or infrastructure-as-code pipelines.
  • Partner with security teams to apply least-privilege access, privileged identity management, MFA, secure admin practices, and cloud-only break-glass account procedures.
  • Implement, maintain, and document HIPAA and HITRUST-aligned security controls across Azure and Microsoft Entra ID, including access controls, audit logging, encryption, monitoring, incident response support, and evidence collection for compliance activities.
  • Partner with software engineering, data engineering, and database administration teams to deploy solutions that apply zero-trust architecture, including identity-first access, least-privilege permissions, secure connectivity, monitoring, and compliance-aligned controls.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize Azure cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
