About The Position

Reworld offers comprehensive industrial material management services to businesses seeking solutions to some of today's most complex environmental challenges. Through a national network of treatment, recycling, and waste-to-energy facilities, Reworld enables its clients to mitigate risks and achieve their sustainability goals. CDL drivers perform tasks associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Reworld facilities and client sites. Drivers will have the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment, including vacuum tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, vans, trailers, and roll-off trailers. The CDL driver is required to have a good motor vehicle record and must operate all motor vehicles in accordance with local occupational health and safety requirements, motor vehicle carrier requirements in Canada and the United States, and all local, provincial, state, and federal laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Proficiency in French and English required for internal and cross-border communications.
  • Class AZ license
  • Hazardous materials and tanker truck experience.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs.
  • Proven track record of safely operating vehicles and complying with transportation regulations.
  • Cross-border experience or willingness to work cross-border.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use equipment safely in compliance with Ministry of Transportation regulations and company policies and regulations.
  • Drive a commercial vehicle for extended periods away from the home terminal.
  • Perform overnight stays in a commercial truck sleeper berth or hotel as required.
  • Work alone or in isolated situations.
  • Drive a commercial vehicle to pick up and transport waste to a designated location safely while adhering to scheduled appointments and all transportation regulations.
  • Ensure vehicle placarding is in compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Maintain records, including expense reports, time sheets, vehicle inspection reports, logs, and worksheets.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, headlights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Secure cargo before and during transit.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
