About The Position

We are seeking a candidate with hands-on Axway Secure Transport (ST) engineering experience with designing, building, and supporting Advanced Routing (AR) for managed file transfers (MFT). The ideal candidate is proficient with an Axway ST 5.5-2026x platform running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), ST MFT automation, enterprise security practices, and can operate in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment. Required to be on-call rotation for mission-critical transfers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years administering Axway Secure Transport in production
  • 5+ years Linux/RHEL system administration
  • 3+ years designing/supporting Advanced Routing (policies, routes, partners, transfer sites, subscriptions, schedules)
  • 3+ years Tier-3 operational troubleshooting across ST protocols and routing decisions
  • 3+ years enterprise security (SSH/PKI/PGP, TLS, certificates)
  • Axway Secure Transport architecture, deployment, and administration on RHEL
  • Secure Transport Advanced Routing concepts: route design, policy configuration, subscriptions, partner setup, rule evaluation, and SLA enforcement
  • Secure transport protocols: SFTP/SSH, HTTPS/TLS, FTPS and message security (PGP/GPG)
  • Enterprise networking fundamentals relevant to ST operations (load balancers, firewalls, NAT, DNS, IP subnets, routing)
  • Identity & access management and role-based access control for ST users and partners
  • Observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace) and log analysis techniques for MFT platforms
  • Certificate lifecycle management (CSRs, issuance, renewal, pinning) and trust store/key store administration
  • Security hardening aligned to enterprise/CIS/NIST guidance and audit requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (Linux/Security/Axway)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Advanced Routing flows that enforce partner-specific policies and SLAs
  • Tier-3 troubleshooting across OS, network, and ST application layers; drive root-cause analysis and remediation
  • Develop lightweight scripts to support operations (log parsing, certificate validation, routing checks)
  • Create and maintain partner/configuration objects (users, roles, routes, policies, certificates, keys)
  • Produce clear technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for ST operations
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Model and configure Advanced Routing decisions for complex partner ecosystems, including conditional logic and error-handling behaviors
  • Validate routing integrity, perform test transfers, and document routing controls and escalations
  • Manage certificate/key rotation schedules and ensure alignment with enterprise policies
  • Collaborate with application, security, and network teams to ensure secure, compliant data flows
  • Advise stakeholders on routing impacts, partner onboarding standards, and security considerations
  • Champion operational best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response within ST
  • Implement and tune monitoring/alerting for routing flows, partner failures, certificate expirations, and transfer health
  • Author and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles for common operational scenarios
  • Support audit/compliance activities and vulnerability remediation related to ST routing and partner configurations
