About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an AWS Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) for Migrations within the AWS Specialist and Partner Industries (ASPI) team, focusing on Healthcare and Life Sciences Customers (HCLS). SSAs are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise who address advanced concepts and feature designs for HCLS customers. You will provide technical expertise to help grow the adoption of services like AWS Transform, AWS Application Migration Service, AWS Database Migration Service, Amazon Relational Database Services, and Amazon Elastic VMware Service. This role involves working with HCLS customers facing complex challenges, crafting scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures, and guiding them through application refactoring or designing new cloud-based systems. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the containers industry.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
  • Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Hands-on experience with migration orchestration tools such as AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN), or RiverMeadow, used to plan, automate, and execute end-to-end large scale migration workflows across heterogeneous environments to the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Helping HCLS organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
  • Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
  • Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
  • Representing the voice of the customer; bringing customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Providing advanced technical knowledge to domain-aligned GTM teams to unblock customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Acting as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
  • Developing and supporting an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Creating field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
