NC DHHS AWS Senior developer
About The Position
This role involves developing and building AWS Data Lake formations, contributing to design, development, and coding. The position focuses on modernizing legacy applications by refactoring and migrating them to the cloud. The developer will utilize AWS services for building enterprise-level Data Lakes, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and transformation. Experience with AWS Machine Learning and customizing AWS ETL logic using Python is essential. The role also requires knowledge of security and data governance, including permissions, encryption, auditing, and compliance. Proficiency in Python scripting and object-oriented languages is expected. Experience with transactional or RDBMS databases, DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging is also required. Familiarity with ETL tools and data analytics platforms like PowerBI or AWS QuickSight is a plus. The position operates within Agile/Scrum Framework environments.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in developing/ building AWS Data Lake formation
- Contributing extensively to design, development and writing code
- Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment
- Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes
- Must have experience in Data Ingestion & Storage, Data Processing & Transformation and working with AWS Machine Language using appropriate AWS services
- Experience in customizing AWS ETL logic using Python code
- Knowledgeable and experience in security and data governance covering areas such as fine-grained permissions, managing user and service permissions, data encryption, auditing, and compliance
- Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Python scripting
- Experience working with any transactional or RDMS databases
- Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, Iac, automation, building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging
- Must have experience/familiar with Agile/Scrum Framework environments
Nice To Haves
- Any prior experience in Object oriented languages is a plus
- Knowledge / experience using any ETL tools
- Experience with data analytics using PowerBI or AWS QuickSight etc. is plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies
- Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the technical team on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Develop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
- Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
- Identifies architectural risks and plans to mitigate risks
- Ensures adherence to standards and best practices
- Influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior ITD and business stakeholders.
