The AWS Infrastructure Engineer supports our client by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable AWS cloud environments that host operational capabilities and mission data workflows. The role encompasses architecting AWS infrastructure, deploying and managing compute resources such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, and Lambda, and implementing robust networking constructs including VPC segmentation, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53, NACLs, and security groups. The engineer leverages orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Nomad for containerized workload management and applies IAM best practices to enforce least privilege access across multi account environments. The position is responsible for troubleshooting performance, connectivity, and security issues, optimizing cloud operations, supporting hybrid cloud integrations, and ensuring compliance with AWS security frameworks and GovCloud/DoD requirements. The role requires regular collaboration with teammates, leadership, and customers—often including presentations—and may involve limited TDY travel in support of mission objectives.
