AWS Geospatial Software Engineer
About The Position
As an AWS Geospatial Software Engineer, you will resolve problems with complete end-to-end geospatial solutions in a fast, agile environment. This role involves developing software and systems from vision to production-ready, with a focus on geospatial data processing and the development of spatial algorithms at scale. You will use your passion to master new tools and techniques, identify system improvements, and help clients overcome challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You will also ensure the developed solution considers the architecture, operating environment, future functionality, and enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software with a cloud first development approach
- 5+ years of experience with back-end development, including with back-end languages such as Java, Python, GO, or C++, and front-end languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, or CSS
- 3+ years of experience with enterprise application development focused on geospatial data processing and spatial algorithm development
- 3+ years of experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM policies, security groups, and network security
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, including AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
- Experience working with containerization, including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS/EKS, and container orchestration
- Experience developing and deploying production geospatial applications from concept to O&M
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor's degree
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation
- Experience with database administration and optimization, including RDS, DynamoDB, or MongoDB
- Experience with serverless architecture such as Lambda and API Gateway
- Experience leading technical initiatives in large-scale environments
- Experience with system design, with focus on scalability and reliability
- Experience developing Geospatial UIs, implementing DevOps mechanisms for projects, and designing and implementing UI for artificial intelligence or machine learning applications
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer Certifications
- IAT Level II+ Certification such as Security+ or CISSP Certifications
