AWS Full Stack Developer
About The Position
CGI is seeking an AWS Full Stack Developer to join a small, collaborative development team supporting the modernization of a legacy application within a financial services environment. This role will focus on transitioning an existing application toward its target state platform, with hands on responsibility for application analysis, development, enhancement, unit testing, and integration. The ideal candidate brings strong Python development experience, hands on AWS knowledge, and experience working across backend, database, and web application technologies. The developer will work closely with technical and business team members to understand requirements, develop reliable solutions, and support the successful modernization of a business-critical application. This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities
- 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience
- Experience developing and supporting applications in AWS environments, including relevant AWS services
- Java development experience, particularly with enterprise applications and integrations
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Experience with Angular or similar modern front-end frameworks
- Experience modernizing, migrating, or transitioning legacy applications to modern platforms
- Understanding of full software development lifecycle practices, including requirements analysis, development, unit testing, troubleshooting, and deployment support
- Exposure to AI technologies or AI enabled application development
- Experience working within Agile/squad-based development teams
- Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience is preferred
