About The Position

We are seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to support federal government cloud modernization initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable AWS cloud environments through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and cloud-native integration services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building automated deployment pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and supporting application delivery in regulated government environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation in AWS environments.
  • Experience with: Infrastructure provisioning and deployment automation.
  • Experience with: Environment promotion and release management processes.
  • Experience with: AWS Lambda development and cloud-based integrations.
  • Experience with: CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  • Experience with: Source control systems such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification (or equivalent cloud certification).
  • Experience supporting federal government or government contractor (GovCon) environments.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or FISMA.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using AWS-native and industry-standard automation tools.
  • Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and environment promotion processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions and cloud-based integrations to support application and business requirements.
  • Implement deployment automation strategies that improve delivery speed, reliability, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with software developers, architects, cybersecurity teams, and program stakeholders to support cloud initiatives.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
  • Support cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices in accordance with federal standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and DevSecOps initiatives.
