AWS Cloud Storage Lead
About The Position
The AWS Cloud Storage Lead is a contractor role responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational management of enterprise cloud storage solutions, with a primary focus on AWS. This role will drive storage strategy, architecture, automation, resiliency, and performance optimization, including leading FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSx ON ONT AP) implementations in AWS to support large-scale application and data migrations. The contractor will partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective storage platforms, provide technical leadership for cloud transformation initiatives, and establish operational best practices across hybrid and cloud-native environments. Experience with Azure storage services is beneficial but not required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud-native architecture principles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Azure storage services is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services across public and/or hybrid cloud environments
- Build and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud architectures
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using infrastructure-as-code tools
- Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and cost optimization
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and integration
- Implement and maintain security controls, identity management, and access policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and service-related issues
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
- Document cloud architectures, configurations, and operational procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cloud best practices
