About The Position

DFA is migrating the Arkansas Integrate Revenue System Tax (AIRS Tax) and Driver Services/Motor Vehicle (AIRS DSMV) COTS systems from the current on premise data center to the AWS Cloud environment. The DFA AWS Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for configuration, migration, modification, support and management of these very large systems in the AWS Cloud for the AIRS Service Center.

Requirements

• Public cloud platform operational support and engineering.
• Debugging and optimizing systems.
• Automating routine tasks.
• Planning, designing, and implementing workload migrations from on premises to AWS Cloud.
• Configuring, monitoring, and assisting with maintenance and support of the infrastructure environment within AWS.
• Configuring, tuning, and maintaining AWS services like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Systems Manager, Network Firewall, WAF, Security Group, Tagging, Network ACL's and Routing Tables.
• Setting up and maintaining Gateway Load Balancer and Transit Gateway.
• Setting up and maintaining VPC's in different Availability Zones, including WFCS and SQL installations and HAG.
• Setting up and maintaining backup solutions using AWS native services (EC2 instances, FSX Servers, various S3 storage types, AMI).
• Infrastructure as Code scripts using CDK in Typescript.
• Configuring, automating, and monitoring AWS CloudWatch alarms and notifications for system(s) health checks.
• Designing, developing and maintaining Executive Level dashboards for system(s) utilization, health, and cost.
• Setting up and maintaining security using tools like AWS Guard, AWS OU, IAM, CrowdStrike, and Tenable.
• Environment hardening to meet compliance requirements and configuration rules for Pub 1075, PII, and NIST frameworks.
• Collaborating with other IT resources and vendors to resolve application and/or infrastructure related issues.
• Maintaining technical documentation of the existing AWS environment related to storage, backups, & patching.
• Participating in the selection of new technologies.
• Maintaining departmental information technology and security standards.
• Effective communication with Management, co-workers, and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform, and debug and optimize systems and automate routine tasks.
