AWS Cloud Platform Engineer
About The Position
This role is the bridge between our tools and our cloud. You are responsible for the "Platform." You will manage the AWS infrastructure using Terraform and maintain the Azure DevOps pipelines that deploy that infrastructure. You ensure the connection between Microsoft's tools and Amazon's cloud is secure and efficient. This position will represent the Enterprise Development Operations Organization in application design, support, and in depth troubleshooting. The Architect’s role is to support all activities related to the integration of software programs and applications into the organization’s information systems. This individual is also responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation of application modules under development by in-house and 3rd party software development teams. Proven communication skills, advanced problem-solving skills, and a thorough knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role. This requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures relative to application development and support, network and database troubleshooting, and detailed root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Prior AWS infrastructure experience
- Deep knowledge of IAM, VPCs, S3, and KMS
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Experience supporting Databricks on AWS
- Deep proficiency in Azure DevOps (Agents, Artifacts, Pipelines, Releases)
- Strong experience with Terraform (managing state files in S3/DynamoDB)
Responsibilities
- Design AWS multi-account architecture for data platforms
- Configure IAM roles, instance profiles, and cross-account access
- Secure S3 data lakes for Unity Catalog external locations
- Manage VPCs, PrivateLink and security groups
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform
- Optimize AWS cloud costs
