AWS Cloud Engineer

About The Position

GCyber is hiring an AWS Cloud Engineer to support our government customer. This person should have experience with infrastructure as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, and with designing and engineering commercial cloud environments, architectures, and designs.

Requirements

  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, with the ability to maintain a CI Poly
  • BA/BS and 8-12 years of experience in Information Technology
  • IAT II Certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Ability to create Lamda functions using python
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS Cloud Formation
  • Virtualization experience (spinning up and configuring EC2 instances)
  • Experience with PowerShell

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, and Amazon C2S services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, ELB, and S3.
  • Configure, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including developing CloudFormation templates and using Ansible to automate deployments, configuration management, and system provisioning; spin up and configure EC2 instances to support scalable, highly available environments.
  • Develop and implement automation using Python, including creating and deploying AWS Lambda functions, as well as Bash and PowerShell scripting, to streamline cloud operations, deployments, system administration, and infrastructure management.
  • Execute cloud operations including monitoring, incident response, patching, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and security hardening across classified and unclassified environments while leveraging AWS services such as VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, KMS, and Config.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and operational runbooks while supporting Agile development, CI/CD, release management, integration, testing, and production readiness activities.
