AWS Cloud Application Architect
About The Position
We are seeking an AWS Cloud Application Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable, secure, and high-performing AWS-based solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and hands-on expertise across the AWS ecosystem. Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development (cloud-focused)
- 5+ years architecting AWS cloud applications
- Strong expertise in AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, IAM)
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- US Resident | US Citizenship
- Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions)
- Exposure to high-performance or compute-intensive systems
- Experience in regulated environments
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS-native architectures (serverless and distributed systems)
- Lead backend development using Python and AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and RDS
- Apply and enforce AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or GitHub Actions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform
- Define monitoring and observability strategies using CloudWatch and X-Ray
- Ensure cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, network security, vulnerability scanning tools such as Wiz)
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams
- Collaborate with Solution Architect and cross-functional stakeholders
