About The Position

Third Way Center is seeking a full-time awake overnight mental health counselor to work as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team at one of our residential facilities. This role involves working with high-risk youth aged 13-20. We are looking for creative and dynamic individuals who enjoy challenges and are eager for professional and personal growth. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can process their traumas, learn responsibility for their actions and lives, and become productive members of society. Overnight Mental Health Counselors are active participants in the treatment team, contributing to programmatic goals and assisting youth with their individual treatment objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work or related field.
  • Can substitute two years of experience for educational requirements.
  • Must possess a current valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Must have a clean driving and criminal record.
  • Must be at least 22 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain QMAP certification.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must pass an extensive background and DMV check.
  • Must follow Federal Drug Screening Laws.

Responsibilities

  • Milieu management including counseling and crisis intervention when needed
  • Knowledge of the histories and plans for all youth in order to give individualized care
  • Teaching the youth different skills based on their current abilities in order to enhance their opportunity for normalization and self determination
  • Ability to work as a team and take direction utilizing resident's treatment plans is a must
