Residential Recovery Services - Awake Overnight Counselor
About The Position
The Oasis program partners with Harrington Hospital to provide 6-12 months of residential recovery services to 16 adults who have both mental health and substance use disorders. Oasis is not a typical group home environment – our model is to support all paths to wellness and recovery including yoga, meditation, smart recovery, therapy animals, 12-step programs, and more. Awake Overnight Counselors provide guidance, support, and help individuals live as independently as possible. Through implementing procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site, counselors ensure individuals are living a healthy, productive, and independent life.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Complete basic housekeeping, filing, shift logs, observe and/or support individuals in taking their medications.
- Must remain awake and alert for the entirety of shift (overnight).
- Assisted daily living skills, morning transports and supports to individuals as necessary.
- Exercise good judgment and communicate/ask for support from the team and supervisors when needed.
