About The Position

The Awake Night Staff supervises clients and the facility during late evening and overnight hours. The role includes weekend shifts, awake night shifts on holidays, and other occasions as assigned. The position reports directly to the Housing Coordinator.

Responsibilities include conducting and documenting bed checks, providing wake-up calls for clients with approved appointments, responding to overnight client problems, and helping ensure a smooth transition of nightly activities and incidents to morning staff. The role also includes housekeeping and administrative tasks, supply inventories, and basic breakfast setup.

Requirements

• Must be able to stay awake during late evening and overnight hours.
• Must be reliable, organized, and thorough, and able to follow written and oral directions.
• Must have good crisis intervention skills.
• Must have satisfactory English writing and communication skills.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of social service experience is preferred.
• Veteran status is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bed checks throughout the evening and document that clients are in the facility.
• Provide wake-up calls for clients who have approved appointments.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping functions.
• File, copy, organize daily paperwork, and complete some data entry as directed.
• Complete supply inventories.
• Respond to client problems that occur during the night, such as suicide watch.
• Ensure a smooth transition of nightly activities and incidents to the morning staff.
• Begin basic setup for clients’ breakfast.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
