About The Position

IMPAXX is looking for an AVP, Settlement Strategies to join their growing team. IMPAXX is a Medicare compliance company supporting the Property/Casualty industry, with a focus on workers’ compensation and liability claim settlements involving bodily injury. They provide nationwide settlement and compliance solutions designed to help clients resolve claims more efficiently, maintain compliance, and manage settlement costs. Core services include Medicare Set-Aside arrangements, MSA administration, lien resolution, structured settlements, and Mandatory Insurer Reporting. The AVP, Settlement Strategies will support IMPAXX by maintaining and expanding a comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance, ensuring adherence to federal requirements and specific customer policies. This role provides leadership internally and to customers, guiding teams and stakeholders through complex challenges.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 7–10 years of workers’ compensation claims experience.
At least 5 years of California workers’ compensation claims experience.
Experience managing and settling complex workers’ compensation claims from inception to closure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced PowerPoint skills.
Strong professional communication skills across in-person, video, and telephone settings.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to manage multifaceted projects while balancing day-to-day responsibilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to internal and external audiences.
Holds, or is willing to obtain, a life insurance producer license and be appointed with various life insurance companies to support structured settlement annuities.

Nice To Haves

Juris Doctor degree preferred.
Working knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer statute preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer compliance, Medicare Set-Asides, structured settlements, Section 111 reporting, zero-dollar MSAs, court orders, and jurisdictional considerations.
Experience supporting client education, technical updates, webinars, trainings, presentations, blogs, podcasts, or marketing content.
Experience partnering with Business Development, Account Management, Sales, Marketing, or client-facing teams.
Experience supporting client retention, account growth, or consultative customer relationship management.

Responsibilities

Provide consultative guidance on Medicare Secondary Payer compliance, Medicare Set-Asides, structured settlement solutions, and related settlement strategies for complex workers’ compensation and liability claims.
Participate in pre-referral, post-completion, and client-facing discussions to address questions, explain product options, review mitigation strategies, and support effective claim resolution.
Serve as a technical resource for internal teams, including Business Development, Regional Account Management, Sales, Marketing, and Settlement Consultant teams.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by supporting assigned accounts, participating in status meetings and file reviews, providing reporting, and identifying opportunities to strengthen customer engagement.
Monitor industry and regulatory developments, including Section 111 reporting, court orders, zero-dollar MSAs, jurisdictional issues, and other MSP-related updates, and communicate relevant impacts to clients and internal stakeholders.
Develop and deliver client education and thought leadership materials, including webinars, trainings, presentations, blogs, podcasts, technical updates, and marketing content.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Account Management teams to support client retention, account growth, promotional initiatives, and revenue goals.
Travel as needed (~20%) to meet with clients and prospects, deliver educational presentations, participate in industry events, and attend professional association meetings.
