About The Position

The Associate Vice President (AVP)/ Chief Quality and Safety Operations Officer (CQSOO) is responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the Seattle Children's Center for Quality and Safety. Specifically, the AVP/CSQOO will oversee the functions of the following departments: Accreditation, Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance, Quality, Patient Safety, Clinical Effectiveness, Medication Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Workforce Health and Safety. The AVP will also provide operational oversight over several programs including RISK (Recognized Illness Severity in Kids) and the Center's Health Services Research portfolio. The AVP/CSQOO oversee and implement the quality strategic plan and actively collaborates with leadership, providers, faculty, researchers and other stakeholders to develop, implement, evaluate and sustain an effective organizational structure intended to reliably optimize the quality of care delivered across the Seattle Children's Enterprise. The AVP/CSQOO chairs and/or participates in committee structures that contribute to the organizations quality and safety improvement structure, collaborates with and effectively works with relevant stakeholders to integrate continuous improvement principles and operationalize analytic models that ensure consistent application, measurement and management of quality and safety throughout the Seattle Children's system. This AVP/CSQOO is expected to be a respected, national leader in quality improvement. The Senior Director is expected to attend and present at regional and national conferences, effectively network with peers through associations and collaboratives, and is encouraged to publish research.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Health Care, Business Administration, or a related field.
10 years of senior leadership experience in successfully developing, deploying and managing patient safety, quality and care effectiveness initiatives and programs in a highly complex academic medical center.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight and leadership of the Seattle Children's Center for Quality and Safety.
Oversee the functions of Accreditation, Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance, Quality, Patient Safety, Clinical Effectiveness, Medication Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Workforce Health and Safety.
Provide operational oversight over programs including RISK (Recognized Illness Severity in Kids) and the Center's Health Services Research portfolio.
