About The Position

The AVP Mortgage Loan Origination is responsible for driving mortgage growth through high-impact leadership, coaching, and sales strategy. This role leads and develops a team of Mortgage Advisors across multiple markets with a focus on increasing team production, strengthening pipeline discipline, and creating the conditions for consistent, sustainable volume growth. This leader plays a critical role in advancing Verve’s Digital First. Relationship Always. Strategy, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and consultative mortgage experience from application through closing. Success in this role is defined by overall team production, member experience, coaching effectiveness, sales execution, and strong cross-functional partnership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred (experience may be substituted).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of residential mortgage origination, mortgage sales leadership, or related mortgage production experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership, coaching, or team lead experience required.
  • Maintain required licensing (NMLS)
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a sales team while fostering accountability and engagement.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage products, origination processes, secondary market requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong ability to lead team production, strengthen pipeline discipline, and coach for increased volume.
  • Commitment to consultative, relationship based service.
  • Strong judgment related to lending risk, documentation standards, and regulatory adherence.
  • Connects market opportunities, team activity, and daily execution to Verve’s growth and member experience strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Mortgage Advisors to achieve production, pipeline, and member experience goals
  • Establish clear expectations, conduct regular coaching and performance reviews, and build a high-performing, accountable team
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development to strengthen team capability and bench strength
  • Lead team-level mortgage production strategy to increase application volume, funded loan volume, and overall market impact
  • Coach Mortgage Advisors on sales activity, pipeline management, referral development, and consultative member conversations
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen referral channels, improve conversion, and remove barriers that limit production growth
  • Monitor team and individual production, pipeline health, sales activity, and key performance metrics to ensure team goal achievement
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends, inform coaching, adjust strategy, and drive higher team production
  • Contribute to mortgage sales strategy, market growth, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Support incentive plan alignment by reinforcing team-based production outcomes and reducing conflict between personal production and leadership responsibilities
  • Ensure a seamless, timely, and transparent mortgage experience from application through closing
  • Partner with operations and underwriting teams to improve efficiency and reduce process friction
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex member or loan situations
  • Ensure adherence to all mortgage regulations, internal policies, and ethical origination practices
  • Maintain required licensing (NMLS) and reinforce compliance standards across the team
  • Promote accurate, complete, and compliant loan application practices
  • Partner across the organization to strengthen referral channels and member relationships
  • Communicate performance trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
  • Represent Verve in the community and industry as needed.
