About The Position

We are looking for a strategic, professional leader to join our GTE Financial Team as an Assistant Vice President Market Manager to lead a group of community financial centers. This role involves leading several branches to achieve sales and revenue goals, deliver an outstanding member experience, drive growth, navigate change management, and support their team in helping members achieve their financial goals. The Assistant Vice President CFC Market Manager is responsible for leading a team of Managers and Financial Centers toward the achievement of sales, service, and revenue goals. This role ensures the optimal member experience, oversees branch operations, human resources, and performance management. The Assistant Vice President will actively participate in targeted community activities and market involvement, promoting GTE Financial and its offerings. The role provides direction consistent with GTE’s Vision, Mission, and Values, focusing on strengthening the GTE brand, increasing market share and member share of wallet, and delivering the optimal member experience. The Assistant Vice President will manage the execution of organizational strategies, initiatives, and changes, demonstrating the ability to embrace change and translate strategy into action to build commitment and enthusiasm at the branch level.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field required; commensurate years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience with at least five years of progressive management experience within a financial institution (experience in the Credit Union industry is a plus) or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proven sales management skills with a history of achieving outstanding results.
  • Ten years of prior retail bank /credit union lending experience.
  • Must demonstrate functional knowledge of The Bank Secrecy Act, in addition to other Federal laws, including, but not limited to The U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and The Bank Bribery Act.

Responsibilities

  • Establish routine visits to CFCs to track and understand the direct market and staffing needs.
  • Establish sales and revenue plans and objectives and manage results by defining high expectations for themselves and branch teams.
  • Lead and manage the sales and revenue planning process, adjusting plans and forecasts as required to ensure the district meets or exceeds all performance goals.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor Assistant managers and branch staff by equipping them with the sales, service, and advice skills and disciplines necessary to deliver holistic advice and guidance to our members to improve their financial health and well-being.
  • Provide strong leadership to the team to promote a culture of ongoing feedback, performance, and development discussions to enhance overall employee engagement and improve retention.
  • Routinely coach using the Integrity Coaching principles and Member Advantage philosophy, evaluate progress and provide frequent and timely feedback to the team.
  • Utilize Credit Union provided market data and networking and prospecting information to solicit business services prospects and members for business services products and services.
  • Perform business development sales calls to existing and prospective members to grow business membership and growth in business deposits and loans.
  • Understand the nature of a business member or prospect’s business operations to provide consultative and needs based solutions.
  • Have complete knowledge of all Business Banking products and services and make applicable recommendations to business members.
  • Work directly and in close partnership with the Management Team and Line of Business partners to focus on business development opportunities in their Market.
  • Help GTE Financial build brand awareness and work to own the community they serve.
  • Develop and enable an engaged, capable, and confident team to implement programs and processes focused on building deep relationships with members.
  • Actively seek opportunities to recognize staff and share best practices.
  • Lead and support the successful roll-out of new products, services, and initiatives.
  • Work with the Retail Leadership Team to develop and execute a deposit strategy to exceed growth goals in terms of deposit growth and cost of funds.
  • Work with the Retail Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve sales goals and expand our member base, which includes active prospecting to build a short-term and long-term pipeline.
  • Maintain and adhere to risk management policy and procedures ensuring managers and teams are up-to-date and in compliance.
  • Qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.
