About The Position

The Assistant Vice President, Workforce Management is responsible for strategic and technical leadership of value driven initiatives that cross clinical, operational, and financial boundaries. Ensure effective/efficient use of the company’s labor resources with oversight of hospital productivity along with overseeing the usage of UKG Dimensions. Oversees the business aspect of the Ardent Internal Agency float pool. The AVP Workforce Management will manage a team supporting Labor/Productivity, and UKG Dimensions. This position will ensure the effective use of the platforms to drive company objectives around staffing and efficiency. This position also oversees the use of Agency labor and manages operations of the Ardent In-house Agency program and RN Resource teams. Finally, the AVP Workforce Management oversees the Laborlytics team and collaborates with system leadership, clinical operations, HR, IT and Finance to increase the availability and use of data for value-based initiatives as well as strategic and operational outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field.
7+ years related healthcare experience.
Previous experience in an acute care setting and understanding ofs hospital operations.
Knowledge of medical terminology and information technology with the ability to communicate technical aspects as needed.
Understanding of the fundamentals of information systems and complex software applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and foster collaborative partnerships using a team approach to span traditional boundaries within the health care setting.
Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate results on time and efficiently with a customer-focuses approach.
Demonstrated skill in change management and data analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication, complex problem solving and team development skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in related field.
Experience with Dimensions timekeeping/absence management/staffing/scheduling/business applications.
Deep knowledge of clinical staffing needs.

Responsibilities

Ensures appropriate benchmarks are utilized within the productivity system.
Manages operations of Ardent Agency program.
Monitors and ensures backend integrations deliver accurate and timely data (Dimensions, Laborlytics, Lawson), execute support where failures occur, build requirements to meet ongoing system evolution.
Oversees for the implementation, education and evaluation of Timekeeping/Scheduling system software updates and improvements. Expands use of basic and advanced scheduling to capitalize on AIMEE functions with UKG Dimensions.
Monitors and reports on system scheduling functions/compliance (Basic and Advanced), develops metrics (in collaboration with HR) to ensure system reliability and trust. Determine corrective plans of action as required.
Analyzes and reports on filed scheduling metrics to provide enterprise-wide scheduling overview while supporting troubleshooting at local level.
Monitors and reports on system Absence Management functions, develops metrics (in collaboration with HR to ensure system reliability and trust.
Collaborates with Laborlytics team to educate leaders on importance of correct coding for improved productivity; continued efforts to resolve issues to reach standardization or productivity metrics.
Oversees predictive scheduling process from opening schedules, balancing schedules and posting schedules.
Works with facilities to align correct pay codes for standardization in UKG Dimensions.
Works toward Integration of UKG Dimensions with EPIC to maximize utilization of Forecasting tool in Dimensions Scheduler.
Maintains service level agreements between UKG, Information Services and the departments served.
