About The Position

Community Federal Savings Bank (CFSB), located in New York City, is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) to serve as FIU Analytics & Reporting Lead within our Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in the Compliance department. CFSB offers a full range of banking services, including ACH settlement services, pre-paid card issuance, and retail banking. In addition to serving our general customer base, we also service various types of money service businesses and FinTech companies. This individual is responsible for building and managing the FIU’s reporting capabilities, conducting data mining and analysis to support complex investigations, and performing manual monitoring for product-specific needs. Serving as a key analytics partner to the FIU, this role leverages SQL, Python, and related data tools to transform large and varied datasets into accurate, actionable insights, while helping to inform reporting and transaction monitoring requirements as the Bank implements its Sardine platform. The role is fully remote in 23 select states or hybrid for those located in the NYC Metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain recurring and on-demand reporting for the FIU, including operational, production, and risk-based metrics that support day-to-day management and regulatory reporting needs.
  • Manage the FIU’s reporting suite end to end, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, well-documented, and aligned to the needs of leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Automate manual reporting processes wherever possible, using SQL, Python, and related tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations that make trends and performance readily accessible to FIU leadership and partners.
  • Conduct data mining and analysis across large, complex datasets to support investigations, including identifying linkages, patterns, and anomalies relevant to potentially suspicious activity.
  • Partner with investigators and Team Leads to scope analytical requests, extract relevant data, and deliver clear, well-documented findings that strengthen case quality and timeliness.
  • Build repeatable queries and analytical routines to support recurring investigative, lookback, and remediation needs.
  • Perform manual monitoring and surveillance for product-specific needs not fully addressed by automated systems, documenting methodology and results in a clear and defensible manner.
  • Analyze transaction activity to identify emerging typologies, risks, and gaps in existing monitoring coverage.
  • Recommend enhancements to monitoring rules, thresholds, and segmentation based on data-driven analysis.
  • Help inform reporting and transaction monitoring requirements in support of the Bank’s Sardine implementation, translating business and regulatory needs into clear data and detection specifications.
  • Support testing, tuning, and validation activities, including analysis of alerts, scenarios, and model output to ensure effective and risk-appropriate coverage.
  • Collaborate with technology, compliance, and vendor partners to ensure data feeds, mappings, and outputs meet FIU needs.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data analytics and insights from FIU leadership, Compliance, and business partners, delivering accurate and timely analysis under varying timelines.
  • Translate analytical results into clear narratives and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support audit and regulatory examination requests involving data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
  • Stay current on AML/BSA regulatory requirements, typologies, and analytics best practices, and support other FIU priorities as needed.
