About The Position

The AVP of Marketing, TJ Maxx joins a team of leaders responsible for formulating and implementing a holistic marketing strategy, with the intention of driving short and long term growth for the brand. AVP leaders have a strong understanding of business priorities, macro trends and consumer insights, and are able to easily translate them into business and brand strategies. They lead establishment of clear and compelling visions for the brand, and translate brand and business strategy into effective channel strategies and creative briefs, motivating teams and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing for TJX Maxx, this specific role drives profitable sales for the brand through the Customer Experience. The AVP of TJ Maxx Customer Experience is responsible for delivering an engaging shopping experience – from our digital properties (site & e-mail) to the in-store environment. This leader will partner with key stakeholders in Brand, Store Operations, Store Design, Merchandising and Loyalty to craft a vision and strategy that clarifies TJ Maxx’s offering; conveys the brand identity and creates shopping environments that are easy, fun and underscore the value proposition.

Requirements

  • Minimum formal education , Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum experience required to perform this job: 15+ years brand marketing experience with a specific emphasis on brand strategy, customer experience via agency or client side
  • Direct experience building brand strategies and plans
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and directing integrated communications plans and associated execution
  • Developed leadership skills along with proven experience managing multiple teams and multiple marketing functions

Responsibilities

  • Set Annual and ongoing vision and strategy for Customer Experience team
  • Collaborate with Brand AVP partners on holistic brand strategy and vision, where applicable and provide relevant TJ Maxx Annual Plan Marketing inputs
  • Partner with Merchandising & Planning to understand and integrate quarterly business priorities into meaningful in-store strategies.
  • Drive in-store content strategy and execution and serve as consultant to digital content strategy & development
  • Oversee development and execution of seasonal sign packages, store design projects and ad-hoc merchandise department and field tests/opportunities
  • Partner with TJX Rewards team to understand and integrate opportunities to grow awareness and applications of TJX Rewards via in-store and digital assets
  • Partner with Store Operations and Store Design to develop, test and optimize new store prototype
  • Support Grand Opening and Relocations to drive awareness; deliver an excellent in-store experience; track performance and identify and socialize best practices
  • Oversee marketing plans for Puerto Rico market
  • Drive development and socialization of Bi-Annual SRVP meetings to inform and engage SRVPs on key marketing programs and partnerships
  • Oversee internal communications to drive awareness, excitement and engagement behind Brand initiatives among key audiences – Board, TJX, Field, etc.
  • Oversee annual forecasting and monthly management of Customer Experience budget
  • Lead a team of 5 high performing associates – cultivating a culture in which each associate feels welcomed, valued and engaged.
