Avocado Sales Manager
About The Position
A global leader in fresh produce seeks an accomplished Import Salesperson for their expanding team. This role will spearhead sales efforts (retail focused) for one of the largest importers in North America. Our client is a year-round supplier for their categories and is highly regarded among retailers. While this role’s focus is avocados, sales opportunities are also available for the company’s entire deciduous offerings. This organization has a very strong brand, product line and industry reputation. This company is vertically integrated, with a state-of-the-art Packing/Cold Storage facility on the East Coast. This role can be based in the company’s Florida or New Jersey offices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Avocado sales experience. (deciduous fruit experience also welcomed)
- Strong experience/established customers relationships with retailers (preferred) and blue chip wholesalers.
- Knowledge of international fruit growing regions, quality characteristics and issues, shelf life, shipping & handling characteristics, import supply chain, pack styles.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study preferred or relevant professional experience.
