About The Position

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for developing plans, procedures, and equipment for the testing of liquid rocket engine controller hardware. You will then execute this testing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of electrical/avionics hardware testing experience
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills with analog and digital hardware and bench measurement/data acquisition equipment
  • Robust practical and analytical understanding of analog and digital electronics
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, associated tools, and their application to electronic troubleshooting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing, in particular using RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and/or MIL-STD-461
  • Familiarity with sensors including linear variable differential transformers (LVDT), resistance temperature detectors (RTD), thermocouples, pressure transducers, resolvers, and accelerometers
  • Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, Linux
  • Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting test networks
  • Graduate degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Plan, complete, and report avionics development, qualification, and acceptance testing
  • Performing tests in conjunction with technicians
  • Analyzing Environmental/EMI test data
  • Use measurement, data reduction, and analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing
  • Identify and mitigate test execution risks
  • Perform and work comfortably in an environmental and EMI lab environment
