The successful candidate will support the assembly, integration, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of avionics hardware for spaceflight and ground support systems. Working alongside our commercial spaceflight partners, this role will contribute to a variety of programs involving NASA, Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering, electronics technology, or a related technical field, plus eight (8) years of experience. A high school diploma or GED, plus ten (10) years of industry experience may be accepted in lieu of an associate's degree
  • Experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining avionics hardware, including electrical harnesses, printed circuit boards, and electronic assemblies
  • Experience with cable and wire harness fabrication, connector installation, crimping, soldering, conformal coating, or electronic assembly activities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications
  • IPC certification or experience working to IPC workmanship standards, including IPC J-STD-001
  • Experience using standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters
  • Experience creating, documenting, and following work orders, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex hardware issues and support integration and test activities with minimal supervision
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aerospace or spaceflight electrical and electronic hardware programs
  • Experience working to NASA-STD-8739 workmanship standards, including soldering, cable and harness fabrication, surface mount technology, and polymeric applications
  • Current IPC certifications, including IPC J-STD-001 and IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum
  • Experience with electronic assemblies and hardware inspection
  • Experience safely handling, storing, and using chemicals and materials associated with electronic assembly and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with aerospace instrumentation such as sensors, valves, motors, and related electrical hardware
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate electrical harnesses, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and flight or ground support hardware in accordance with engineering documentation and applicable workmanship standards
  • Test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware using engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and work instructions
  • Support hardware fabrication activities including soldering, crimping, cable harness fabrication, conformal coating, inspection, and documentation of work performed
  • Support the design, development, manufacturing, integration, and testing of avionics and electrical systems in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Experience mentor junior technicians and provide guidance on workmanship standards, assembly processes, and test activities
  • Perform all other assigned duties
