About The Position

As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. You will comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures, and perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations. Your duties will include removing, repairing, and re-installing problematic avionics equipment, assembling and installing electrical components, and operating ground support equipment if required. You will also provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problems and maintain detailed records of all repairs and work performed on aircraft.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention-to-detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.
  • Understand various aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Possess (basic) set of tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred.
  • GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification preferred.
  • Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
  • Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations.
  • Remove, repair and re-install any problematic avionics equipment before aircraft is cleared.
  • Assemble and install electrical components.
  • Operate ground support equipment if required.
  • Provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problem(s).
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and worked performed on aircraft.
