About The Position

Modify, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness. This role requires intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area. The technician will accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wire diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders, and other documents. Responsibilities include modifying, repairing, replacing, or otherwise performing routine aircraft maintenance work in a specialized area of aircraft, properly utilizing and maintaining Avionics hand tools, and accurately documenting work performed daily. The role also involves preparing routine reports and correspondence, fabricating wire bundles and assemblies, troubleshooting issues, operating ground support and test equipment, and assisting with general clean-up of the work area. Accurate timekeeping for jobs, regular attendance, and effective conduct with co-workers are essential. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ avionics experience preferred.
  • Familiar with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
  • US Person Required - this position requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
  • B1, B1.1, and/or B2 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
  • Accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wire diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders, and other documents.
  • Modify, repair, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized area of aircraft.
  • Properly utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations.
  • Accurately document work performed as set forth by Greenpoint and customer maintenance programs daily using the standard format.
  • Prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Fabricate wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices to include marking of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors.
  • Troubleshoot issues, replace, or repair parts, test, making necessary adjustments.
  • Operate ground support equipment e.g. GPUs, Hi-Reach, etc. as required.
  • Operate test equipment e.g. Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets, etc. as required.
  • Help with general clean-up of work area.
  • Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
