About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Avionics Technician – Level 2 or Level 3 to join their collaborative teams in Goleta, CA. This role is crucial for missions of paramount importance, focusing on defining the art of the possible. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently and in a team, possesses a strong aptitude and desire to learn the practical application of the RF test environment and its underlying theory, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on customer service excellence. Travel for this position is minimal, less than 10%.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of related avionics experience in an aerospace environment (for Level 2)
At least 4 years of related avionics experience in an aerospace environment (for Level 3)
US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules

J-STD-001 Soldering Certificate
Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic

Responsibilities

Performs manufacturing operations associated with RF circuit testing, tuning, and assembly.
Utilizes common hand tools and occasional soldering to assemble hardware.
Utilizes measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators during hardware fabrication.
Performs transmission and reflection arch measurements using a VNA (vector network analyzer).
Performs in process measurements in support of low-rate manufacturing operations.
Performs antenna pattern and gain measurements within the Anechoic Chamber.
Performs antenna and RF network VSWR measurements.
Reports data and interfaces with other employees and departments.
Reads and understands manufacturing drawings/schematics and shop planning.
Assists in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
Other duties as assigned.
