Avionics Technician - Line (Experience Required)
About The Position
At United, our Technical Operations team is comprised of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams dedicated to ensuring our aircraft are well-maintained and ready for service. This role involves providing service and maintenance for aircraft systems, Powerplant, Airframe, and Components. Daily duties include inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, and routine maintenance. The position offers the opportunity to work on larger, sophisticated aircraft and requires strong mechanical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as a teammate. Candidates must be capable of handling weather extremes and enjoy hands-on work. United provides initial, specialty, and recurrent training in technical areas, ethics, and compliance. Career advancement opportunities include roles in management, inspection, quality control, and fleet planning. Seniority can lead to transfers to other locations. This is a union position with an initial schedule designed to meet operational needs, requiring availability for any shift within a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays. Mandatory overtime may be required. Punctuality and reliability are essential.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED/Educational Equivalent
- FAA A&P License
- Valid US Drivers License
- Computer literacy
- Must pass a background check and drug screen upon contingent job offer
- An eagerness to learn and willingness to train
- The ability to access elevated aircraft areas via ladders, lift trucks, boom lifts and other devices
- The strength to lift 50 pounds, physical flexibility and the ability to work in confined spaces
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
