About The Position

As an Avionics Technician IV, you will supervise avionics maintenance teams and oversee the most complex diagnostics and repairs. You will ensure all work meets the highest standards of safety and compliance. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Expertise in avionics systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex, technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
  • Advanced skills with moderately complex avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering' and crimping techniques.
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Leadership experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot static equipment.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation, testing, and repair of avionics systems.
  • Oversee complex diagnostics and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and compliant with regulations.
  • Conduct advanced training sessions for avionics staff.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and work quality.
