The Avionics Technician II will provide hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electro/mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, power distribution, life/vehicle critical safety systems and battery systems. Work is performed from schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Perform work in both Laboratory setting as well as work on manufacturing floor or on vehicle depending on manufacturing needs. Building different components and assemblies for all groups in all different environments (development, test and flight). Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly. Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly. Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight. A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
