The Avionics Technician I is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics equipment and systems for our aerospace vehicles. This entry-level role involves performing basic equipment setup and maintenance activities, using precision measurement tools, and fabricating fixtures. The technician will also learn and apply precision cleaning, chemistry processes, and best shop practices, including 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of our avionics systems, contributing to the overall success of our aerospace missions. In this role, you will install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment and systems while performing basic equipment setup and maintenance activities. You will use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry. Additionally, you will learn and perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes, adhering to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements. You will demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware and learn to apply 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness in daily tasks. Collaborating with team members, you will ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines. Furthermore, you will document and report any issues or discrepancies identified during inspections and tests, contributing to overall operational excellence.
