About The Position

To perform all phases of repair, maintenance or modification on aircraft or component parts to include dismantling, repairing, assembling and erection of machinery and mechanical devices and the exchange and replacement of electrical equipment or electrical components. Essential Job Functions include performing scheduled and unscheduled inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification on aircraft electrical and avionics systems in accordance with the applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs) and the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM). The role also involves fabricating and installing aircraft wiring to engineering design specifications, including terminations of wire harnesses/bundles and connection of components. The technician must become familiar with and follow the requirements of the RSQM, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circular, manufacturer’s service bulletins and any other required references to perform assigned work, ensuring proper, current and applicable approved or acceptable data is always in possession before beginning maintenance. The position requires maintaining the work area to the highest standards of safety, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents, and performing good housekeeping practices. Proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored (including racks by aircraft) is also essential. Documentation procedures and sign-offs must be performed in accordance with the Repair Station Manual and respective task requirements. The technician is responsible for ensuring tools and equipment are correctly used and handled for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear, and that tooling, GSE and ground equipment is returned to its proper storage area following use. Continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority are expected. Close and frequent communication with the Lead Technician is required, notifying him/her of progress and any road-blocks or threats to task accomplishment that could impact re-delivery. Dealing with customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner is also part of the role. The technician must ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft, in a timely manner. Participation in any required training as determined by the company is also expected.

Requirements

  • Less than 3 years’ aircraft avionics maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in oral and written English.
  • Must report for assignment with personal set of standard trade-specific tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft avionics maintenance experience on current fleet types being maintained or modified by the Repair Station.
  • Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Experience in V/VIP custom aircraft interior completions.
  • Completion of General Familiarization Training Courses on current fleet types being maintained or modified by the Repair Station.

Responsibilities

  • Able to build harnesses.
  • Basic ability to read Blueprints.
  • Able to understand diagrams.
  • Install wire with some supervision.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification on aircraft electrical and avionics systems and in accordance with the applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs) and the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM).
  • Fabricate and install aircraft wiring to engineering design specifications, including terminations of wire harnesses/bundles and connection of components.
  • Become familiar with and follow the requirements of this RSQM, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circular, manufacturer’s service bulletins and any other required references to perform their assigned work. Never begin any maintenance unless in possession of the proper, current and applicable approved or acceptable data.
  • Ensure the work area is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are performed at all times.
